Australian Women in Agriculture celebrates 30 years!

In February 1992, a group of women in Victoria met to discuss the possibilities of forming a state-wide organisation to recognise women as farmers, break down isolation and access decision making both on-farm and beyond the farm gate. The state based organisation quickly became a national organisation as members joined from all across Australia.

Storytelling

Our own stories shape how we understand the world: what we value, what we notice and the questions we think to ask. Sharing them gives us the opportunity to see through someone else's eyes, building understanding and common ground.

I extend my respect to the orignal storytellers: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia, who have shared knowledge, culture and connection to Country through storytelling for 65,000 years.

I acknowledge the Wonnarua people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I live and work, and extend my respect to all First Nations peoples and their connection to Country, wherever they call home.
